Travel disasters happen even before you board a plane, ship or train. This is when you have to submit to all security inspections and find out that you can’t find your needed travel documents! You start rummaging through your luggage and gets even more frustrated when you start hearing last minute flight announcements. Hence, you need to wake up earlier to be at the airport, port or platform earlier than usual too. You still have to account the minutes you have to spend looking for these documents.

Since looking for travel documents take up most of your time at the airport, dock or station, get a leather travel wallet to keep all paperwork in one location. The wallet is big enough to be carried around independently so you don’t have to open your bag just to find what you need.

Leather is a material that is well-known for being durable; that is why it is the perfect material to the creation of a leather travel wallet. What sets the travel wallet apart is the fact that it is wide enough to hold several pieces of travel documents without causing them to mix, crumble and tear. You can keep your passport, currencies, identification cards, itineraries and so on safe inside because it has locks and fold-over snaps too.

If you think that genuine leather travel wallets only are only available in black, brown and white, you are wrong. Today, there are hundreds of different colors and designs available. Just pick whatever style that reflects your own personality. You can easily get a pink leather travel wallet or the classic ones anytime desired. Don’t worry; they are all made to be compact and lightweight.

How you carry your leather travel wallet is up to you. But to give you some ideas, here are a few: tie it to a lanyard around your neck or attach it to your belt. If you are looking for a gift, then you can also choose between this wallet or a chic travel toiletry bag.

Planning a Great Family Vacation

Family vacations can be the finest, most memorable bonding experiences of a lifetime or they can be total nightmares. The difference between the two extremes is often a matter of planning. Depending on the size of the family and ages of the children, there is much to consider from the destination to the accommodations that will make all the difference in the enjoyment of the vacation for all. Because a vacation only happens at most once a year for most families and budgets are limited, it pays to do that planning to ensure an excellent experience.

If the entire family loves the beach, then the type of vacation is a given, it’s just a matter of which beach and the details of travel and accommodations once there. If the kids are pleading for Disneyland but Dad hates crowds and lines, another vacation venue may be preferred or else an acceptance that Dad will be happier on the golf course while Mom and the kids enjoy the park is needed to keep the vacation a happy one. If interests of family members vary widely, look to vacations that offer a variety of activities that can meet everyone’s needs at least to a certain extent while planning family dinners and some activities together. As long as everyone’s desires are heard and respected, happy compromises are possible.

Comfortable accommodations are essential for a fun family vacation. Cramped hotel rooms and lack of space and privacy can be a source of stress and friction. Because hotels in resort areas especially can be costly, many families try to all squeeze into a single room with a single bathroom which can be a big mistake resulting in over-tired, testy family members. Instead, look to renting a vacation condo that offers the elbow room and amenities of home for about the same cost as a luxury hotel. An added advantage for economy is that a rental condo has a kitchen so the family doesn’t have to depend on costly restaurant fare for every meal.

It isn’t just where you go it’s where you stay that can make a big difference in a great family vacation or a horrible one. Consider all of your options to make the best choice for your family.

More and more of the upper class are choosing to forgo the routine Sit-On-the-Beach vacations for a relaxing time with horseback riding vacations.  There are many places to visit throughout the country that provide luxury dude ranches with scenic trails or wide-open ranges for horseback riding.  Although it may appear that this type of vacation is not for everyone, luxury accommodations, gourmet cuisine and many different activities are available for even the most finicky vacationer.  A lot of luxury dude ranches are open for the entire year, allowing the vacationer to enjoy the different seasonal weather or celebrate holidays.

Accommodations can vary.  Some provide private cabins with several bedrooms and a full kitchen if the occupants prefer to cook their own meals or prepare a snack.  Luxuries are provided such as plush towels and bathrobes, slippers and high-quality bedding.  In addition, some cabins are equipped with a hot tub or whirlpool bath, perhaps a sauna, and a fireplace for ultimate relaxation.  Other ranches offer lodge rooms, with public areas for vacationers to mingle with each other.  Swimming pools, saunas and hot tubs are shared amenities.  Meals are served in a common area or in the vacationer’s room to allow for privacy.

Horseback riding vacations do not offer only horseback riding.  The upper class is treated to such activities as exercise classes, yoga, massages and spa treatments.  Some ranches provide holiday celebrations, such as caroling for Christmas or fireworks displays on the Fourth of July.  Other activities could include nature hikes, cookouts, dances and live music.  Most provide activities for children as well.  They could include such activities as pool parties, scavenger hunts, making S’mores at the campfire, or arts and crafts.  Some ranches allow the vacationers to assist with the daily chores if they desire, like feeding the animals or maintaining equipment.  With so many activities and luxury accommodations, a horseback riding vacation has something for everyone.

Go on a Hawaiian Holiday

Hawaii always conjures up images of incredible beaches, tropical scenery and cascading waterfalls. Believe it or not, the reality is even more stunning. Hawaii is made up of 100 islands formed out of volcanic eruptions. So apart from azure waters and soft sand, sculptural rock formations add to the beauty of the beaches. Hawaii is quite simply one of the best places to visit on your holiday travel.

With over a 100 islands, the choice of beaches is endless. Waikiki on the Big Island is the most famous beach and with good reason. It is also great for surfing in summer and boasts of great facilities. Lanikai beach in Oahu, Kee beach on Kaui and Kapalua beach on Maui are some of the most picturesque beaches you’ll ever see. But then again, every beach is gorgeous, whether it’s close to a city or located on a remote island. So just go wherever you want and you won’t be disappointed.

Some of Hawaii’s beaches are surrounded by coral reefs. So the water can be as still as a swimming pool and teeming with colourful fish, making snorkeling an amazing experience. Plus you don’t even have to venture far from shore to snorkel. Most beaches have calm waters during the day but in the afternoon the wind picks up and the sea can get a bit rough.

Hawaii is also a favourite with surfers and divers. While some beaches are only for experienced surfers, most are perfect for beginners and less experienced surfers. The incredible marine life also draws divers from all around the world.

Hawaii has some great golf courses, renowned resorts and luxurious spas. So apart from sun lovers, surfers and divers, it also attracts golfers and honeymooners. What’s more, Hawaii’s mild and warm weather makes it a great destination any time of the year. After Christmas, Easter is the next big holiday in Hawaii. So if you are planning a Christmas or Easter break in Hawaii, book your flights and hotels well in advance.

So you heard from a friend or relative how awesome their Bali trip was. They rode elephants, hiked mountains, and went off-roading and now you want to go to? Maybe that isn’t your reason for going. Whatever reason you have you just need to keep in mind that Bali has some great and unique experience. Here are just a few things you should do when visiting Bali:

1. VW Safari
Bali’s number one road tansport is the VW Safari. You can rent one of these at many places and cruise the rice paddies, or visit the Saba Stables and get your horse riding game on. These vehicles are small, efficient and will get you to point A to point B with out delay.

2. Horse Riding
Have you ever seen a black sand beach? Rent a horse and gallop on the shores of your first black sand beach. Horse riding is a common experience in Bali but when you aren’t a rider back home you can be sure the experience will be unforgettable.

3. Safari & Marine Park
The Bali safari and marine park is a must-see. You just have to go there. Look at baby tigers, leopards, and exotic fish from all over the world. This experience will create lasting memories for a lifetime. The park itself contains 30,000 species of animals each unique and beautiful.

4. Elephant Riding
How many people can say they have actually rode an elephant? Sure a few could claim they’ve ridden one in a circus. However, Bali elephant riding will have you trekking through the coastline, shores, or the safari! Now that is an experience you can’t purchase too often!

5. Private Boats
Find a beach and rent a boat to visit one of many Bali’s surrounding islands. Not up for island hopping? Then why not try dolphin spotting! Remember to bring a camera for this one. You won’t want to forget these magnificent creatures too fast. They are fast, beautiful, and not your everyday scenery either.

6. Surfing
Surfing in and around Bali is extremely popular with not only tourist but professional surfers. Surfers from around the world come to Bali to ride their fine waves, and lay out on their sandy black beaches. If your an amateur you will have no problem finding lessons. If your a pro, get ready for the waves of your life!

Another option that might interest you is Myrtos on Crete.

Nothing beats a vacation in a log cabin, especially when you are just taking a couple days off to unwind and relax. You can find some fantastic log cabins in a lot of places in the United Kingdom. There are multiple websites available with info regarding the accommodations that can be had. Log cabins holidays will let you explore different territory and do fun things in that location. This type of lodging is great if you want to go hiking, do some outdoor grilling, go swimming, fish, or just sit around and enjoy the solitude of nature. Log cabins in the Lake District are great for all these things, and offer a much better alternative to traditional vacations.
The majority of sites that people camp at have nice facilities. Log cabins in the Lake District can be near Lake Windermere, a nice spot for doing water related activities. Prices can differ based on exactly what you are looking for in your log cabin. You can get a smaller cabin, perfect for two people for a romantic getaway. Or get one that holds up to six people comfortably, great for a weekend excursion with friends. If you want fancier things like a deck, hot tub, and nicer furniture, that can be done too. Or if you prefer a more rustic feel with of course a cheaper price, go that route. Enjoy these lodgings in the spring, summer and fall, and sometimes even in the winter.
This is a great experience to bond with your family. Enjoy looking up at the stars at night, roasting marshmallows over a fire, and then retire to a comfy bed for the evening. Wake up the chirping of birds instead of city traffic. It will a great change of pace and may just become your new favorite vacation spot.

Investing in holiday insurance for seniors

For many grandparents, traveling to see the grandchildren can be both pleasure and sublime revenge for your own children’s misdeeds.  Flying across the country or globe to spoil the grandkids is a divine right of grandparents.  It’s both enjoyable and entertaining, but traveling is not altogether a risk-free endeavor.  For that reason, it pays to have a travel insurance policy in place to protect your financial investment in your holiday.

Holiday insurance works in one of a couple of ways.  First, you may purchase travel insurance to cover just a single vacation or trip.  This option is best if you don’t get around much, and tend to take just a single trip per year.  You can structure such a policy to begin covering your travel investment at the time you make reservations, or at the time you actually depart on holiday.  While it’s a bit more expensive to cover your expenses from the time of booking, it can save you from paying expensive cancellation penalties in case you’re forced to cancel your trip.

There is also an annual holiday insurance option available, useful if you travel more than a couple of times per year.  This option covers you for an entire year, up to a specified number of trips.  You’ll reap significant savings over individual trip policies, so this is a worthwhile investment if you like to get away from home.

While it can seem a little intimidating to go searching for holiday insurance, there are agencies whose specialty is providing travel insurance over 70.  Such an agency has experience catering to the particular needs of the more mature traveler, and is a great place to start your search.

If you happen to suffer from a chronic medical condition, or have begun having a medical indicator investigated, you need to disclose this to your provider.  In case you file a claim, they will thoroughly investigate your medical history.  Any discrepancies might void your policy.

Use Your RV and Take a Napa Vacation

Here’s a good idea: use your RV to create a home base for an inexpensive, unique and wonderful Napa RV vacation. This posh vacation destination doesn’t advertise itself as friendly to RVs, but it has some relatively unknown gems you should know about.

Most guide books, like those at the California Tourism Guide, extol all the wonderfully quaint inns, the world-class spas, the golf resorts and the hotels affiliated with wineries and vineyards. But they won’t really tell you about a RV park which is an easy walk, over a bridge, to downtown Napa. As you might expect, in this place dedicated to the good life, this RV park has concrete pads, nice grass buffers between sites and all the amenities you’d want, including a nice class of other visitors.

At the north end of the Valley, there’s a RV park and campground near Calistoga, also within easy walking distance from downtown. Especially for the vacationer who wants to enjoy fine dining, a bit of wine, and the wide vistas available to those on foot, being able to avoid a drive for dinner and night out is wonderful. There’s a great value to having restaurants and other amenities within walking distance of your accommodation, and if your accommodation happens to be your very own RV, why then you’ve truly maximized the value potential!

Many of the wineries you’d want to visit are set up to accommodate the van-type, mini-busses used on the popular “Limo Tours” of wineries. Accordingly, the parking lots are set up for easy ingress and exits for oversized vehicles like the RV. Another option, of course, would be to utilize a guided tour company for your winery visits — which, of course, comes with the benefit of a designated driver.

If you use the Napa RV park, you can walk to the Wine Train terminal, the Oxbow market and historic downtown Napa, just 10 blocks from the RV Park, reachable by foot or a city shuttle bus.

Last, remember that Napa Valley is just 50 miles north of San Francisco, so you won’t need to drive hours and hours from Napa to other interesting tourist destinations.

Timeshare Auctions- What Are the Options?

A holiday is no more a luxury that only the rich and famous think necessary. These days, everyone needs a holiday, a break from the routine of every day. Of course, most holidays could prove to be very expensive and may be way out of your league. You could argue that if you saved through the year you could have a grand holiday at the end of it. Yes, that’s true. But imagine the scrounging around, having to check all prices at the supermarket and having to do without stuff you really need. “Not worth it,” you decide. So what’s the option? Well, timeshares are an option – and a rather feasible one at that.

Timeshare auctions can give you great prices for absolutely steal deals. These timeshare auctions represent offers that are easily affordable by most people. Timeshare auctions come up pretty often so just keep you eyes glued to Ebay. Take your time looking and when you feel you have a good buy then go for it.

The best timeshare would be the one that offers you the most value for money. Timeshare auctions and the best timeshares to own need not necessarily go hand in hand. You have to find out what timeshares suit you best and then you will be able to figure our which are the best ones to considering owning. For example, what kind of scenery do you like? The ocean or the beach? Whichever one is your preference will help determine the right timeshare for you. Or else the other draw would be that it is a quick drive from your place of residence so you have someplace easy to get to and don’t have to deal with airports.

Do a reality check to find out what you want when looking at the various timeshare auctions. What is it you are looking for? Do you want to lie in bed all day long? Do you want to go on long treks? Do you want to take evening walks along the lake? Figure out exactly what you want from a holiday and then you will be able to find out which is the best timeshare for you to own.

The Golf Connection in Our Vacation

When I say that I want something unique vacation idea for my family this year I really mean that. Our vacation for the past couple of years were all OK, but somehow it lacks that factor that would really make it memorable and remarkable. I want something better for this year, something that would make us want to remember it for the rest of our lives. I want a vacation idea that could start a tradition in our family.

Now my wife and my kids they all love golf. My wife taught our kids everything that there is to know about playing golf, from the different types of swing to golf club components. They love spending a whole day just playing. So I got this idea that maybe we could have one of those golf vacation packages that they are advertising right now. Those packages would allow us to play in the best golf courses and then to stay in the top hotels in the vicinity. Nothing beats a whole day of swinging and walking like night of relaxation in the best hotel amenities available. That is something that I would really look forward to. I would like to get a massage and be pampered. I am sure that the food too that they will be served would be excellent as it always is on top hotels.

Now my family on the other hand while they would spend the whole time playing there and they would like nothing else. I know that it would be something that would really please them. I can not wait to break the news to them. I know that they would look forward to this trip and I want to male sure that they would look back to it as one of our happier moments once its done.

Carry-on Packing Tips

Dealing with carry-on luggage is an important part of traveling. If you are unaware of airport regulations and protocols, it can lead to hassles, delays, or even arrests. Listed below are some basic guidelines for carry-on luggage.

Prohibited Items

Never pack sharp objects like knives, sharpeners, or skewers in your bag. Even harmless looking items like nail sharpeners are prohibited at most airlines. All restricted items will be confiscated, so it is better to pack them in your check-in luggage instead.

Be Serious

Never joke about the contents of your luggage. There have been several cases where people joke about their luggage contents, only to be detained several hours for investigation. Be friendly and straightforward with airline security personnel, they are just doing their job, so try to make it as easy as possible.

Travel Light

People often try to pack as many items as possible. Stuffing your leather backpack purse and carry-on suitcase will only create problems at the airport, especially if you need to get something out of there. Find clothing types that match other and try to bring as few as possible.

Be Smart

Think smart when packing your luggage. Dirty shoes should not be packed if you are worried about soiling your new Gucci luggage. Any dirty clothes or items should be wrapped in sealed plastic bags. Small, fragile items are best to pack in between clothing, which will provide a layer of padding while the bag bumps and jostles around.

Most people come back with more luggage than they left. If you are going on vacation and plan to pick up some souvenirs or a pair of new clothes, leave some extra room in your suitcase. Alternatively, you can bring a suitcase with an expandable compartment so you will always have extra room for new belongings.
